Just for fun...

Musical Theater

So in Musical Theater when you take the grade 12 level you get to direct songs, and i am quite excited about this, even though Mr.Edmonds said he's going to put a few more restrictions on the song choices so that a story can be made out of all the songs. A story that isn't so ridiculous and confusing... Anywho I have a few songs and movements in mind already... It's not my fault really, it's how my brain works, when I hear a song I just see a performance of it... And so I don't forget here are the ideas...

All That's Known - Spring Awakening - 4 guys
Without You - Rent - 2 girls, 2 guys
The New Girl In Town - Hairspray (possibly, I'm not sure)
Tell Me On A Sunday (Possibly, I'm not sure)

All That's Known I want to do a lot of character work with it and have organized and planned movements with textbooks and things, should be itneresting...

Without You I want to do two couples at the same time singing back and forth. It'd be about the two couples being together, then they would 'break up' (they'd switch partners), then at the end they would go back to their original lover. I think it'd be really cool if we could get it 'intimate' to a certain level and possibly put in some lifts and I want to do a lot of really cool partner work.

The New Girl In Town I'd want it to be really sassy and have a lot of smooth stage driection and position changes.

Tell Me On A Sunday I don't really have any ideas for this but I think it'd be a good classic to break out...

What happens at recording stays at recording....

So from the title you can guess that I can only tell you some parts about recording... And here are the most important parts... hold on i'll post more later...

Ok I'm back.... So what were we talking about???? Oh yeah recording....
So I get there late not that we were supposed to be there at a specific time but all the girls sing their harmony for the song like line by line and its a torturous process. Torturous and treterous. Then its my turn and so I put the headphones on stand by the mike in the corner and all the girls go hang up stairs while I wrap up the song. So its just me, singing teacher and sound engineer down in the basement studio and my singing teacher is just like sing through the song to warm up and just bade it all off of Leah's rough track and stop when you get to the solo lines. So I stop when she tells me to and she goes that was really good and the sound guys like I have that recorded. So I'm a one take wonder! WOOT! and then after I finished the rest of the song (I had to do the last half twice) she asked me to sing the solo lines and i was like sure. And when I was finished those she asked me to sing the harmony above mine. So I was listening to myself sing the melody in the headphones and sang the harmony with myself! IT WAS AMAZING! LIKE MOST AMAZING MOMENT OF MY LIFE EVER!
It was a good day. We ate all of Deanna's food, crashed in her living room and recorded some awesome things. Unfortunately I can't tell you more because what happens at recording stays at recording.
Oh by the way, this is beautiful...

God Rides A Yamaha by Kathy Shaidle

My Jesus isn't "meek or mild". His coming was proclaimed by a guy who ate bugs, and Jesus himself ran away from home and talked back to his mother.
He turned water into wine - not the other way around.
And he told us to pray for our enemies; he didn't say don't have any.

Finally found something good only to realize it was already destroyed....

So recently I've been listening to Metro Station and I just could not understand why such 'scene' music is main stream and is on much music all my life. Could it be because the lead singer is Miley Cyrus' BROTHER! That's right people. You heard it and you know exactly what that means. This amazing music unfortunately was not stumbled upon and then four teenagers were granted success. OH NO! In fact being the brother of a teen sensation and the son of a country legend gets you a lot more then "are you sure your realted to them?" Honestly, you should look at this kid, totaly emo, all skinny and lengthy, doesn't look like the Cyrus Fam Fam at all. But he is defiantely part of it.
However, after all my ranting, I still must return to the fact that they are completely and utterly amazing! Like beyond belief. I have described them as Hellogoodbye but with emos! It's amazing... The music just make you want to dance. It's kinda like a mix of Marianna's Trench and Hellogoodbye and I am seriously enjoying it wayyyyyyy toooo much..... Well here ya go, listen to this solid gold crap for yourself!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpU78IeTx_c

Ok jsut found a picture of their whole family and he's a younger, thinner emo version of Billy Ray! IT'S HILARIOUS!!!!! I am defiantely totally enjoying this to a very large extent.....HAHAHAHA..... This is the most amazing thing ever, defiantely!
